Netherlands based filmmaker, Charles Liburd, is currently in Zimbabwe to hold a script development workshop. The workshop was made possible through a collaboration between Women Filmmakers of Zimbabwe and the Zimbabwe College of Music and is aimed at upcoming script writers. |

Tsitsi Dangarembga's short film Sharing Day has been nominated for a prize in the "Best Short Film Category" at the African Movie Academy Awards to be held on Saturday 4th April in Port Harcout, Nigeria. The African Movie Academy Awards are beginning to play a significant role in the promotion of film in Africa and this year, for the first time, they have drawn a competitive amount of productions from all over Africa to vie for what is destined to become the African equivalent of the Oscars. |

Zimbabwean actress Danai Gurira stars in the film “The Visitor” which was the opening film at this year’s edition at ZIFF. We last saw Danai at HIFA 2006 when she performed the play “In the Continuum” with Nikkole Slater.
A synopsis of the film: Years after losing his wife, 62-year-old Walter Vale (Richard Jenkins) has also lost his passion for writing and teaching.
